Join people in Baltimore and from across Maryland working to end trash incineration, and toward sustainable solutions such as recycling, composting and waste recovery. Trash burning incinerators are both an environmental justice and public health issue. Incinerators emit more air pollution than coal plants, and have contributed to Maryland having some of the highest rates of asthma in the country. Learn with guest speaker Neil Seldman of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and communities across Maryland are organizing to end trash incineration. For those unable to attend the event in person, a livestream will be available through the Maryland Chapter Facebook page.
